Specific Learning Difficulties and Visual Stress ClinicThis clinic caters for patients who have Specific Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, who suffer from Migraine, Pattern Glare, Light Sensitivity, Flickering Lights, Meares-Irlen Syndrome or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome. Initial Assessment
This fee includes a full and detailed eye examination, and tests for binocular co-ordination. These tests can include Cover Test, Ocular Motility, Near Point of Convergence, Dissociation Test, Associated Fixation Disparity Test, Foveal Suppression Test, Stereopsis, Vergence Reserves, Amplitude of Accommodation, Accommodative Lag and Accommodative Facility. The Wilkins Rate of Reading Test, and assessment for sensitivity to the use of colour using coloured overlays are also carried out. A full written report is prepared. The fee also covers any follow-up appointments that may be required within the next 6 months. Aftercare (This starts at six months from the initial assessment appointment). Annual fee £35.00 This fee covers any 30 minute appointments which are required in the year to check progress since the last appointment. However, should a full eye examination be required as well as aftercare, a further £30.00 will be charged unless NHS exemption applies, and a one-hour appointment will be needed.
